Helping disciples to grow and mature in their faith is a serious commitment for us as elders at BOL. It is our desire “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Eph 4:12-13). This is done, not only through the faithful preaching of the word week by week from the pulpit, but also through the members ministering to one another. To facilitate this, we have weekly Life Groups in different locales, monthly men’s and women’s book studies, youth meetings, and Growth Group for young adults.
- Women’s ministry:
Our ladies enjoy a monthly gathering to study a book together and fellowship; we also have a number of smaller gatherings that meet at different locations and times of the month; and annually, we have our ladies’ conference, which we hold in conjunction with other sister churches.
- Men’s ministry:
The men gather bi-monthly for a book study and breakfast fellowship. We also have an annual
men’s conference that we hold in partnership with other sister churches
- Youth ministry:
Our teens, along with teens from other sister churches, gather once a month for study and fellowship. We also have an annual teen retreat, where we go away for a weekend to a Christian camp.
- Young adult ministry:
In our monthly young adult meetings (which we call “Growth Group”), we share a meal, build friendships through conversation, and spend time in singing, Bible study, and prayer. As we discuss God’s Word together, it is clear that the members of Growth Group love God’s Word and want to honor God with their lives. It’s fun to bond together over food, and it’s sweet to experience hospitality from different members of the church who host our meetings in their homes. We meet on the third Saturday of each month and welcome young adults ages 18-39, including friends from other churches!
