God hears the cries of His people in their bondage. The LORD speaks to Moses from the burning bush and calls him to bring the Israelites out. This is an epic opening to a work by God that will continue throughout the first 5 books of the bible and into Joshua. But further, it points to Jesus and the greater work He’s done for all people Jew and Gentile alike.
