Joseph, the faithful son chosen by God as seen in Joseph’s double dream of preeminence. The brother’s treachery who displayed in the fact that they want to kill young Joseph. The goal is simple, that the dream of preeminence doesn’t come to pass! Judah seeing a trade caravan decides it’s better to sell him. The goal, in their sinful minds, will be the same the dreamer will be out of their hands and out of their sight for good, at least that was the plan and goal. Amazingly, the sinful act is the very thing that brings the dream about!
We apply the text to our live in two ways, first by way of typology, and secondly comparing Joseph to our lives today. The goal is simple, to strengthen the believer in depending on their loving sovereign God!
