After five and half chapters of indicatives, we reach the very first imperative of the book of Romans. The beautiful thing is that after hearing all that Christ has done on our behalf, and before any other command we are told to first believe it all to be true. The Greek word for reckon is logizomai which means to consider, trust to be true. It is an accounting term suggesting that whatever is on account is known to be there. It is a true fact that Christ has deposited much into the account of His elect, the only question is, do you believe it?
