Jesus, the Son of God, is the highest authority in the universe. In this passage, his authority goes head to head with the kingdom of darkness and its minions. In typical Markan fashion, we are given an action-packed summary of a typical day in the life of Jesus, complete with teaching, healing, and casting out demons. However, all these miraculous signs point to the greatest miracle of all, that Jesus has the authority to forgive sins.
For us who delight in the authority of Christ, do we live under his rule?
