We all face various trials as believers in Christ. The Bible has much to say about trials. Scripture uses various words when speaking about trials. Trials, trouble, affliction, tribulation, tests, are all words that speak of trials in varying degrees.
Some ask the question “Why do we as Christians face trials?” possibly because of the false teaching that all will go well in health and wealth for the Christian. While this may be the case for some concerning health and prosperity, all Christians face trials. Many are minor, but some are major!
How are we to react to trials? James exhorts us how we are to react to trials. Unlike the world who want nothing of trials, we are to count it all joy! Not just during the easier trials, but every trial, whenever they occur.
Do trials have a basis and purpose or are they just random? James goes on to tell us there is a God ordained basis and purpose for our trials. We are commanded and have a godly reason to count our trials with joy. The Lord is doing something in our lives for His glory!
We have His Word and His promise He will be with us through all trials!
