The Will of God

The Holy Spirit is praying for the good of those who love Christ. He does not pray for the sovereign will or preceptive will of God, as these are clearly revealed and established. Rather the Holy Spirit prays for the individual will of God. It is this will which Christians are often most curious to discover. Some have fallen into using magical and mystical methods to determine God’s individual will for their lives. While there are times when God does reveal His individual will to the Christian, most often He does not, so we should not expect Him to. It is not something that we are entitled to know. We should not be indecisive because the individual will of God has not been revealed to us – but rather, our concern should be Christlikeness, and as we grow closer to Christ, we will be better aquainted with God’s individual will for our lives.
