In 1 John 3:1-2, John highlights our adoption as being the highest expressions of God’s love that He has bestowed on us. There is no higher privilege or honor that God can bestow on us, sinful beings, than to make us His sons and daughters. He then gives a number of tests in his epistle as evidence of our sonship. Please read the epistle and look for those various tests that he gives. Also, consider the relationship that Christ had with his Father as an example of how we are to relate to God as our Father.
