The Conquerors

How is it that ‘sheep for the slaughter’ are made ‘more than conquerors?’ In the grand drama of redemption, God uses the apparent defeat of suffering, tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril or sword – the very things that the world associates with defeat – to strenghten His children so that they might overwhelmingly conquer before the sight of all creation. Christians are more than conquerors for five reasons: 1) Our enemy is more than human 2) We are in a life-long war (there is no truce in this life) 3) We face a 3-fold enemy 4) The Spiritual victories achieved are eternal (a crown is laid up in the eternal realm) 5)The goal of our warfare is the glory of God (we will lay that crown at the feet of the one who alone is worthy) Ultimately our position as ‘more than conquerors,’ is because of our place in Christ. Though Satan sought to take our seat in heavnely places, we overwhelmingly conquer him through Christ who loves us!
