Indeed, throughout history, the people of God and work of God have been targeted by the enemies of Christ and in various times and cultures seemingly almost snuffed out.
But these plots have been in vain. The church’s light may have dimmed but it has never been quenched. When it seemed that some event may have spelled final destruction, God breathes new life and revives his people.
As we celebrate the triumphant resurrection of Jesus Christ this Easter, let us remember that the God who raised Jesus from the dead continually gives life to his church. The gates of hell will not prevail!
