Comforting Truths for Troubled Hearts

In John 14:1, Jesus commands “Do not let your heart be troubled …” That is, do not be agitated, perplexed, or thrown into a state of confusion. This is not an admonition to be ‘happy-go-lucky’ or ‘grin and bear it,’ but is a specific imperative based upon 5 comforting truths: 1) the PERSON who issues the command 2) the PLACE He prepares 3) the PROMISE He gives 4) the POWER He gives in the Holy Spirit 5) the PRESENCE of God within us
