Glory Revealed

Knowing that the glory which shall be revealed in us will so far surpass our present sufferings in intensity, location and duration, should have a comforting and calming effect on our lives. Calvin wrote of this verse that is should lighten the load of the cross we bear. Having once enjoyed innocence, but fallen from it, man now longs for what he once had. Yet something even greater than perfect innocence and earthly glory lies ahead for the Christian. It is full weight of eternal GLORY in heaven, presently veiled, but real and awaiting to be revealed in us in the ages to come when we will see Christ face to face. Meditating on such a wonderful future helps to lighten the burden of the present sufferings which characterize this fallen world.
