“If therefore ye seek me, let these go their way.” Upon His arrest, Christ’s first concern is not for Himself or what He was about to suffer, but for His disciples. He was truly the Good Shepherd protecting His sheep. How the Savior’s majesty and glory shines forth! Though He was about to be taken prisoner, He does not act as a helpless captive, but rather as a king. He commands His captives, let these go their way, here am I, take Me; but I charge you, let them go. He speaks as Conqueror.
